OPST Commando Floating Tips

OPST are known for Skagit, but what some people don't know is that if you harness the power of a Skagit head, and finish it with a tapered, floating tip, you get something that can be described as "micro Scandi"or "Scandit". Lazer-sharp loops and delicate presentations are now possible with a Commando Head.

The lighter Commando Tips in 5, 7.5 and 10 foot lengths match rods from 6 to at least 11 feet long, making them ideal for just about any trout rod you own. They can be fished with straight tippet or, for ultra-delicate presentations, tapered trout leaders up to 9 feet long and even longer.

The slightly heavier SHS (Steelhead Salmon) Commando Floating Tips are available in 7.5, 10, 12 and 14 foot lengths. Designed for heavier single hand rods all the way up to full-length spey rods, they will work on rods at least as long as 14 feet.

All Commando Floating Tips come with welded loop at both ends, and a Tip-ID on the rear end.

Olympic Peninsula Skagit Tactics is a group of steelheaders who focus on Skagit-style swing fishing for everything from king salmon to smallmouth bass. The Skagit River and the Olympic Peninsula have defined OPST's products, the way they fish, and their philosophy.

OPST's program revolves around Skagit casting, the most recently innovated "Spey" or anchor-based type of casting. It is THE preferred methodology because of its wide latitude of angling versatility.

The Sustained Anchor is key to Skagit casting versatility and OPST strives to optimize that effect by utilizing SAS (Sustained Anchor Systemology). By concentrating on SAS, the utmost potential of Skagit casting is achieved. The entire concept is called "Pure Skagit".
